If you are a U.S. citizen, 18 years or older you may register to vote. You may register at any of the below locations, or you may register at any public library in Jefferson County

What do I need to register to vote?
You must provide your Social Security number, date of birth, legal residential residence address, and home phone number.

Are there any conditions that prevent someone from registering to vote?
Persons convicted of a felony or declared mentally incompetent are not eligible to vote.

Do I have to declare a party affiliation when I register to vote?
No, there is no party registration in Alabama. Party affiliation is declared only in primary elections at your polling location.

I have moved to a new address recently. Do I need to notify anyone?
Yes, if you move to a new residence in Jefferson County, you must notify the Board of Registrars. You will then be notified by mail of your new voting location.
