Adult Day Health Care is designed for people who can no longer be left alone because of dementia or medical disabilities. This service also offers respite for caregivers by providing a place to leave family members in a structured, supervised environment.

As a part of meeting community needs, adult day health care is provided in the Jefferson County area.  The goal of these facilities is to maintain a maximum level of independence of people in need of such services, as well as providing respite for primary caregivers.  Day care provides a structured, supervised environment for those who can no longer be completely independent because of infirmities of old age or disability, but who wish to remain as independent as possible.  The adult day health care programs are highly beneficial for those who suffer from social isolation.  These programs are designed to provide a variety and combination of individualized and group activities.  The activities include health education, self care training, therapeutic activities and health screening.  Participants and their caregivers become more aware of community activities and services available.
