Commissioner Collins is
pleased to Accept Award

On February
18, 2000, the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama honored
Commissioner Bettye Fine Collins with their "Integrity in Leadership
Award." The award was presented to recognize Commissioner Collins'
dedication to the Boys and Girls Club of North East Jefferson
County. According to the club, she was instrumental in having
the facility located in Jefferson County, and has continued
to lend her support and leadership to the Club.
The Boys
and Girls Club of Central Alabama is 99-years old, and is the
oldest youth-serving organization in the southeast. The North
East Club has over 400 members who enjoy activities at the Club
such as sports, classes on character development, swimming,
teachers helping with homework, and substance abuse prevention
classes. Children ages 7 - 14 are served by the Club. The Boys
and Girls Club of Central Alabama is dedicated completely to
children, providing leadership to enable youth at all levels
of society to develop and achieve their maximum potential.

such an honor to be recognized by this wonderful organization,"
says Commissioner Collins.
