The Jefferson County Law Library provides the public with access to a collection of well-organized authoritative law materials for their in-house use. Statutes, reporters, form books, administrative law books, and law reviews form the bulk of the collection. There is a high concentration of Alabama and Federal materials. The Law Library staff will assist patrons in the use of the library, but cannot answer legal questions, assist in filling out legal forms, interpret the law, or provide any assistance which could be construed as practicing law without a license.

The staff can perform Westlaw and AlaLinc searches. Photocopy machines and a facsimile machine are available. Patrons should request information on current charges for services provided. Limited research assistance is provided in using the library's print and CD-ROM collection. The collection is non-circulating except to the Bench, Bar and government officials.
