The
Balm of Gilead Center is a comprehensive program for persons with terminal
illnesses who do not have a place to live or who do not have enough support
at home to provide needed care services. Persons with all forms of terminal
illnesses from cancer to AIDS are eligible for this program.
The Balm of Gilead Center is
planned to open in the Summer of 1998 on the fourth floor of Cooper Green
Hospital. The Jefferson County Department of Health and the Care Team
Network are partners in this unique program. The primary goal of the Gilead
Center is to improve the overall quality of patient and family care, including
pain management and spiritual guidance.
More information on the Balm
of Gilead Center will be posted on JeffCo InTouch in the near future.
